Annie Leibovitz photography is more for magazines, editorial or photo journalism. As shown by the two example shots, she takes photos of celebrities like president Barack Obama with his family or the cast of the very loved Star Wars movies. Leibovitz doesn't stick to just studio photography or out door photography, she goes all over the place and takes pictures wherever needed.
I would say that both photographers are very skilled in photographing people and portraits. Both have a sense of documentary photography.
Brandon Stanton seems to go along his day to find people to photograph. They dont have to be famous or well known. He finds unique people to take a photo of, to capture a story somewhat. I would say Stantons photography would be more documentary that anything because he is documenting the everyday people of New York.
