Contrast Essay
The two photographers I chose to compare and contrast in my essay are Olivia Bee and Platon. These two photographers are probably my two favorite out of the whole year and they have many similarities along with differences.
Both Olivia and Platon have very similar styles. They both like to shoot with human subjects and like to document other people. They do portrait photos and they all come out very high definition and somewhat fine art.
Bee and Platon also have many differences like Platons style is a very simple yet elegant black and white style that is close up to the subjects face. The subjects are usually stone faced and placed in the middle of the photo with a simple white background and a couple studio lights.
Bees style, although she also shoots portrait photography, her photos are far more colorful and aesthetically pleasing. Bee does very edgy and colorful photo shoots that catch the subjects personality. Bees photos also seem to have a dream like quality to them, they are simple but ethereal and dreamy.
